Austin Film Society – Everything Must Go – Will Ferrell

Last night the Austin Film Society hosted a Membership Event for the premier screening of Everything Must Go Film Starring Will Ferrell and In Attendance for Introduction and Q/A.

Will Ferrell in attendance for Q&A

Adapted and directed by Dan Rush, and based on a short story by Raymond Carver, EVERYTHING MUST GO tells the story of Nick Porter (Will Ferrell) a career salesman whose days of being on top are long gone. The same day Nick gets fired, for falling off the wagon one last time, he returns home to discover his wife has left him, changed the locks on their suburban home and dumped all his possessions out on the front yard. Faced with his life imploding, Nick puts it all on the line – or more properly, on the lawn – reluctantly holding a yard sale that becomes a unique strategy for survival. EVERYTHING MUST GO also stars Rebecca Hall and Laura Dern.

As a member of Austin Film Society you enjoy many benefits of seeing film premieres, special events, screenings, and parties. I have been a member since 2004 and continue to support this great non-profit organization.

I was able to photograph the event, but not professionally.

And remember, Don’t TEXT!!

New Delt House Construction

My fraternity from Texas State University at San Marcos, formerly Southwest Texas State University. Zeta Delta began construction on the new house a week ago and had the foundation poured today! Be sure and check our Twitter and Facebook Fan Page for updates and pictures on the construction of the new Delt House.

Alumni Josh Schneider has been instrumental in getting this done for this chapter. He deserves all of the accolades and recognition for this project.

OSMF 2011

It was the best year yet at the 24th Annual Old Settlers Music Festival in Driftwood, Texas! This was my fourth year to volunteer at the festival with the Watering Hole Crew. I was able to camp out for tow nights and even bring the family out for Saturday and again at the campgrounds on Sunday. I was able to see some great musicians and eat some great BBQ! OSMF is located at the Salt Lick Pavilion and camping at Camp Ben McCulloch.

I wasn’t able to take many photos as I would have liked as in years past. Unfortunately, the best food on the Salt Lick menu, the pistoles, is no longer available. As the legend goes, the inventor of the perfect fried encrusted biscuit and pulled pork with drizzled BBQ sauce, was fired shortly after last year’s festival for undisclosed reasons.
